Week 10 - Accommodation & Adventures!

Hey Guys, for week 10 I will be focusing on accommodation options and sharing some more of my Hong Kong adventures.

Accommodation

Let's start off with accommodation. Although I've mentioned my living quarters before... I will go more in-depth in helping you find the right accommodation.

CITYU Dorms

CITYU has provided dorms to students in previous years. However, due to the covid pandemic, exchange students were forced to find accommodations outside of the campus. This option was a lot more expensive (about $4000) but I got to experience living in Hong Kong in a more authentic manner. Hopefully, you will be provided with the option to the dorm on campus.

Yesinspace

Im currently living in the yesinspace serviced apartments. I am in their Mongkok location, however, they have multiple locations around the city. Im currently renting their single studio option for about $7500 HKD ($975 USD) a month. Compared to other competitors... yesinspace is a very budget-friendly option.

Pros:

  1. Budget-Friendly

  2. A good amount of space (compared to competitors) (Hong Kong housing is SMALL!!)

  3. Living with a fair amount of other exchange students / local students

  4. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff

  5. Good location & fairly close to MTR station

Cons:

  1. Not as social as weave apartments

  2. Not as many shared spaces compared to competitors

  3. Thin walls

Here is a tour of my single studio apartment in Mongkok.

Other Options [Master list]

1) Weave on Prince Edward / Olympic / Hung Hom

3) Appledorm (extremely cheap)

Recent Adventures

Some of my recent adventures include scuba diving in Sai Kung, exploring Mongkok city's street markets, eating great food (clay pot rice, Japanese udon, snake, shave ice), and more!
